PET Bottle to Bottle Recycling (2010 Program)

The technologies and economics of PET “bottle to bottle” recycling are presented and compared to the production costs of virgin PET. Superclean (physical) and chemical recycling techniques are assessed. Regional PET bottle grade supply, demand and trade forecasts are included.

Polyethylene Terephthalate (2009 Program)

The chemistry, process technology and production economics for polyethylene terephthalate (PET) are presented.  Conventional PET technology is compared to several “improved” licensable PET processes. Of particular interest is a speculative analysis of Eastman’s IntegRex process on both stand-alone and close-coupled bases.  Regional PET S/D forecasts are also provided.

Polybutylene Terephthalate (2008 Program)

The chemistry, process technology, and production economics for polybutylene terephalate (PBT) are assessed. Continuous and batch processes are compared and their production economics compared. Overviews of the major licensors’ technologies (Hitachi, Uhde Inventa-Fischer, Lurgi Zimmer) are given.
