Global styrenics demand growth continued to slow in 2019 and the downturn is exacerbated by the Covid-19 crisis.  The automotive and construction sectors, in particular, plunged into a contraction of unprecedented severity.  However, polystyrene demand has been fairly resilient due to an increase in hygienic practices that are essential to the pandemic response.

This Webinar will address key questions:

  • How has the Covid-19 pandemic impacted the styrenics sector? What recovery is expected in the short to medium term and what are the regional trends?
  • What trends are influencing supply and which regions are currently investing in new capacity?
  • With increasing protectionism, how is global trade likely to evolve?
  • Longer term, how will circularity influence styrene demand?
