Market Scenario Planning: LDPE Regulation Development - 2023

Market Scenario Planning: LDPE Regulation Development report provides NexantECA’s scenario forecast for virgin, green and recycled LDPE out to 2050 globally.  Scenarios forecast supply based on Business As Usual, Base and Aggressive Adoption scenario assumptions whereby underlying policy, technical barriers and market constraints evolve in fundamentally different ways.  As well as the scenarios, background to policy efforts, detail on market drivers, ongoing project developments as well as cost competitiveness, carbon intensity and pricing mechanism analysis are included. This report is part of our new Market Scenario Planning program which looks at emerging products, market events and end-use industries where scenario forecasting provides more value due to the higher uncertainty associated with the subject.  Scenarios are defined and are informed by NexantECA’s expert knowledge of chemical, fuel and fertilizer markets.

Recycling of E-Waste (2022 Program)

E-waste is the world’s fastest growing and most valuable waste stream. An estimated $62.5 billion USD worth of precious metals from electronics are landfilled and incinerated annually while less than 20 percent of the world’s e-waste is captured through formal recycling channels. This TECH report provides the technological, economic, and market dynamics of the formal electronic recycling industry. This report also examines the status and trajectory of electronic recycling across each continent and the key policies and initiatives shaping the future of e-waste. An economic model for a standard industrial e-waste recycling plant in the United States is also provided.

Thermal Conversion Technologies – An Answer to Recycling Plastic Waste?

This report examines the technical, economic, and strategic aspects of thermal conversion (e.g., pyrolysis and hydrothermal treatment) technologies that are used to recycle mixed plastics waste. Selected developers of technologies were profiled and ranked under different criteria. The economic analysis of thermal conversion technologies, involving the production of feedstocks for olefins are provided for different geographic regions. In addition, the report includes an analysis of the plastic-based naphtha delivered cost competitiveness to Western Europe from the USGC, China, Japan, and Southeast Asia. An ethylene carbon intensity analysis is provided. Strategic and business considerations are also included in the report.

Low Carbon Intensity Ethylene - A Technoeconomic and Carbon Intensity Study

This report compares the various options for lowering carbon intensity of ethylene production via technoeconomic, carbon intensity, and strategic analysis. Regional cost and carbon intensity baselines, comparative carbon intensities (including breakdown and analysis by Scope 1, 2, and 3 Emissions) of decarbonization configurations, cost of productions, and impacts of carbon tax/credits on competitiveness (including break-even values) are analyzed across four regions: US, Brazil, China, and Western Europe. Additional regions/countries are available as an add-on.
